With mouth still wide open the lion moved his head to almost touch Marty’s head. Looking inside the open mouth of a lion is a very scary thing, add to that a bad breath (because lions don’t have toothbrushes) and the closeness of those teeth, and TERROR is what you feel.
Marty tried to move but the lion placed a heavy paw on his neck adding more fright than you can possibly imagine. He was much bigger and stronger and Marty was absolutely powerless to help himself.
